'Dancing With The Stars' Cast News: Karina Smirnoff Confirmed Returning to 'Dancing With the Stars'

Karina Smirnoff is coming back to Dancing with the Stars! According to an exclusive interview with EW, the Ukrainian-American winner of season 13's Mirror Ball Trophy will again amaze the judges and audience of the hit dance competition in its 21st season.

In season 13, Smirnoff, 37, paired off with soap opera star J.R. Martinez to win the coveted prize. This time around, she admits:

"I was a little nervous about not dancing on the show at all last season. I was doing it for the last 10 years."

Smirnoff goes on to say, "I had other things to do in my life, but not going back to the show felt like trying to see if I can walk on my own two feet! I've had obvious moments when I missed it."

Casting for season 21 has not been completed, however, it has been confirmed to EW that Val Chmerkovskiy, winner of season 20 with Rumer Willis, will return. Witney Carson (who previously danced with Chris Soules) will also dance again.

Partners have not been assigned either. The full cast and partnering will be revealed on Good Morning America in the first week of September. According to Smirnoff, even the pros only find out their pairings on the first day of rehearsal.

"I'm excited and a little nervous," admits Smirnoff. "Normally I can at least narrow it down a little bit, like whether it will be an athlete or an actor, but I have no idea."

Dancing with the Stars will air on Sept. 14 on ABC.
