‘Dancing With the Stars’ Cast News: Cheryl Burke Leaves for New NBC Variety Show
After Len Goodman announced that he will be leaving 'Dancing With the Stars', sources have confirmed that Cheryl Burke will also be leaving ABC's celebrity dance competition to join a new variety show on NBC.
A source has revealed that the new NBC show is in its very early stages, but will likely be a competition reality series and Burke will perform.
Back in September, the 30-year-old dancing pro, who has been with the show for 18 seasons, has already hinted that she would be leaving the reality competition.
During an interview with 'Good Morning America' on September 15, Burke said that the current season would probably be her last one on the show.
"I started when I was 20. I'm 30. I feel like I just want to try new things and just see what's out there," she said.
Additionally, she told TV Guide in October that her contact was over and that there were "other opportunities that have been out there for me."
"It's so hard for me to talk about this, because I owe my life to Dancing with the Stars. They've changed my life completely. They're my family and it's always hard to say goodbye...to a bunch of people that really believed in me from the start, and continued to believe in me for the last 10 years," she added.
However, she also told E! News that if given the chance, she would have wanted to be a judge of DWTS, saying, "This is my family. I've been a part of the show for the last decade. And if they would ask me to be a judge, I'd love to."
Meanwhile, with Goodman's departure from the show, sources tell E! that the show currently has no plans of adding another judge.
'Dancing with the Stars' just finished its 19th season and is gearing up for its 20th season this spring.
