CW TV Schedule 2015: Eight Shows Renewed - Arrow, Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, & More
At the Television Critics Association on Sunday, president of The CW Mark Pedowitz announced that all eight of the network's fall shows will be renewed for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
"Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience," Pedowitz said, "By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season's storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, mid season and summer 2016 line-ups."
The eight shows to be renewed are "Arrow" (season 4), "Jane the Virgin" (season 2), "Reign" (season 3), "Supernatural" (season 11), "The 100" (season 3), "The Flash" (season 2), "The Originals" (season 3) and "The Vampire Diaries" (season 7).
Fans and critics alike do not find it surprising that the superhero TV shows "Arrow" and "The Flash" are being renewed for their quality work and ratings since their air dates. The show is also moving forward with a spin off series that will include several characters from each show.
Show veterans "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries" are looking at new angles in order to keep the momentum going even though both shows have had some drops in their ratings for a while.
As for the rest of the line-up, Pedowitz and other team members will look at ratings closely in order to determine to keep the shows after their renewals.
Other shows mentioned at the Television Critics Association such as "Hart of Dixie" and "Beauty & the Beast" are still up for debate to as whether the shows will be renewed or not.
All eight shows announced will be released throughout the fall, mid season, and the summer.
