'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Spoilers and Cast News: Jackie Chan May Feature in New Season
When 'Criminal Minds' returns to CBS for its 11th season, fans of the long-running police procedural drama television series may possibly see the renowned martial arts actor Jackie Chan making a guest appearance on the show.
According to Latin Post, the official 'Criminal Minds' Twitter account recently revealed that the actor from Hong Kong will be featured in the series through a mysterious message.
The tweet read, "@EyeOfJackieChan said 'coffee is a language in itself' @ the 2006 opening of his coffee franchise #CriminalMinds," and accompanied a photo of Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) holding a cup of what seems to be coffee.
Parent Herald reports that Dr. Reid said the precise quote back in 'Criminal Mind' Season 10 episode 18.
The report further states that earlier this year, 'Criminal Minds' executive producer Erica Messer confirmed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will not be reprising her character as the FBI Undercover Agent Kate Callahan in the upcoming season, as she is pregnant in real life and is taking a break to spend time with her new baby. Moreover, series star AJ Cook also revealed during Season 10 finale that she is pregnant and will be on maternity leave for the first few episodes of Season 11.
Consequently, the cast of the show includes veteran actress Aisha Tyler as the latest member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team to help fill in the empty slots left by Hewitt and Cook on the CBS drama series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Tyler will play the regular role of Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist, who Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner determines is the best candidate for the position vacated by Kate Callahan.
The website further stated that Dr. Lewis' "dream was to study psychopaths up close and personal - and her psychology background, combined with her experience in the FBI, brought her face-to-face with monsters. Her job was to stare them down and interview them, in order to determine if they were fit to stand trial. In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes."
