Fans of the long-running police procedural television drama 'Criminal Minds' can expect an intense episode on Wednesday, April 29, as BAU launches a hunt for a madman in Los Angeles.

According to Latin Post, the promo video of 'Criminal Minds' Season 10 episode 22 titled 'Protection,' shows that the UnSub will detain hostages and open fire at the BAU team. In addition, Joe Adler, who also features in 'The Mentalist,' will make a guest appearance as Danny Lee Watson in the upcoming episode.

The official synopsis of 'Protection,' published by Carter Matt reads, "When shooting victims are found in the Los Angeles area with possible links to criminal activity, the BAU searches for a vigilante UnSub."

Meanwhile, 'Criminal Minds' executive producer Erica Messer also teased fans about the upcoming episode. Messer revealed that the storyline regarding the suspect who has been kidnapping and auctioning people off online will culminate in this episode. The story of 'Protection' will conclude with inopportune consequences for Kate, who will be pushed into a difficult position while she attempts to save Meg and her friend.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Messer revealed, "By the end of episode 22, we do a mini cliffhanger in that we know that Meg and her best friend are being kidnapped by the guy we saw in the premiere ... [The finale] is our team fighting for one of our own to get her loved one back."

Besides that, the showrunner also teased that while Reid has asked Agent Dorian Loker, portrayed by guest star Emily Churchill, on a date last month, it is unlikely that he will find love anytime soon.

Talking to TVGuide, Messer said, "She will not be in the rest of this season," adding that the purpose of the date was meant to explain that Reid has finally moved on from Maeve's death. She said, "It's been two years. Maeve is something that will never go away in his heart. We want him to smile again and we think everybody else does too. The fact that this quirky agent who speaks Russian is somebody he'd like to have coffee with -- good on him. That's a great thing."

'Criminal Minds' Season 10 episode 22 titled 'Protection' will air on Wednesday, April 29, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
