'Covert Affairs' Season 5 Spoilers, Recap: Annie Finds Bedenko's Man, Eyal Intervenes

'Covert Affairs' returned for the rest of its fifth season on November 6 with Episode 11 entitled, "Trigger Cut."

The previous episode, the Season 5 mid-season finale, entitled "Sensitive Euro Man," aired on Aug 26 and left the fans eager for more with its cliffhanger style ending.

That episode underlined the tragic shooting incident which endangered Ryan's well-being, forcing the private security owner to focus on recovery.

Moving forward into the11th episode of 'Covert Affairs' Season 5, Ryan McQuaid faced extreme dangers, as his health continued to fluctuate.

Beyond that, conspiracy on Auggie pushed Annie to travel to Istanbul where she finds one of Bedenko's men meeting with a terrorist arms merchant named Qabbani, a man marked for death by the Mossad. In the end, she captures Qabbani at a bathhouse, but Eyal arrives and kills him.

It's worth mentioning that Eyal delays his departure to try to help her put a stop to Bedenko's plan, but they don't succeed. She returns to Washington, where Ryan has apparently regained consciousness.

Also, viewers see Auggie at the hospital, where his old friend Tony died of alcohol poisoning, after being fired from his State department job for helping Auggie find Bedenko.

Calder's love interest, Sydney/Stephanie, agrees to help the CIA compromise the phone of her Russian embassy client, declining the promised payment after she succeeds in inviting Calder to use her real name.

According to Producer Corman, "there's a bit of a recovery period for Ryan. He was pretty badly injured, so it's going to take a little bit of time for him to get back on his feet."

TVLine reports that Corman said, "You'll see going forward, in Episode 12, he's lost a number of members from his unit and that's going to affect him in all sorts of ways. As we go through these back six episodes, you'll really see it all come to a head."
