‘Constantine' Episode 6 Recap: 'Rage of Caliban’ Showcases Series of Murders & Possessed Children
In last Friday's episode of 'Constantine', entitled "Rage of Caliban," the drama intensified as the writers of the series decided to implement some interesting plot develops and twists into the 43 minute episode.
Despite some dragging moments in the segment, there were scenes where John Constantine and Chas were able to shine.
The episode began with the murder of a couple, while their child survived. The man was bloodied and hovering near the ceiling before dropping to the floor and the woman was crushed beneath a pile of bricks, while the little girl was sitting in the corner against the wall.
The next morning, cops were at the scene of the murder when they began arguing, suddenly, the little girl's eyes turned black and the coffee mug shattered.
Meanwhile, Constantine and Chas also went to the house to conduct their own investigation, and he was able to learn that the girl was possessed by a spirit and attacked her parents.
They also learned that there have already been six cases in the past 35 years where the same incident had occurred.
In one of those cases, Marcelo, the child of the murdered couple was still alive, but was unable to help because he was comatose.
Later, another victim emerged, Henry, who was constantly being bullied, and in one instance, his demon used telekinesis to throw the bully against a merry-go-round.
Constantine then went to Henry's parents to tell them that their son was possessed by a demon, but Henry's father punched him and he ended up in jail.
However, when Henry's parents began fighting and the mirrors around the house started shattering, Henry's mother realized that Constantine might have been right and dropped the charges against him.
When Constantine confronted Henry, the spirit revealed itself and it turned out to be Marcelo.
Constantine recited an incantation while holding Henry and sent the spirit of Marcelo back to his body.
The "Rage of Caliban" episode was supposed to have been the second episode in the series, but according to executive producer Daniel Cerone, it was pushed further in the season to give way to the introduction of Zed's character after the pilot.
'Constantine' airs Friday nights at 10 pm on NBC.
