'Constantine' Cancellation News: Series Gets the Ax by NBC, Looks for New Network

It's finally been confirmed, NBC will indeed be pulling the plug on the 'Constantine' television series.

With the obscurity of the comic book character and the show's slow pace, it was a pretty hard sell for the big major network.

The show did however prove to have a very strong and eager fan base, when the producers gave them a call to action, asking them to campaign on Twitter using the hashtag #SaveConstantine.

Their efforts may have not been in vain, as there is still hope the mystery/horror show can get picked up by another network.

The show's executive producer, Daniel Cerone recently tweeted:

"NBC a "no" for Season 2. Warner Bros working hard to find ?#Constantine new home. Stay active. Stream. Tweet. ?#SaveConstantine ?#Hellblazers"

There was recently rumors about the show moving to Syfy, however these claims have recently been refuted.

"There was a rumor while ago about a possible move from NBC to cable sibling Syfy, which turned out to be false but I hear there could be a future for the show, even a potential broadcast play. I'm being completely hypothetical here, but what do you think of this trio under one roof: Lucifer, Frankenstein and Constantine?!" writes Deadline.

The idea pitched is referring to FOX, as the network is gearing up for a 'Frankenstein,' series as well as a developing a spin-off series for the comic series 'Lucifer.'

It is all still up in the air, but with the show's cult fan base, there is still a lot of hope for the series to come back to television.
