Conor McGregor News: Fight Talks Ronda Rousey, ‘She Would Throw Me on My Head in One Second’
UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor is the promotion's latest star and also its biggest draw. On the entire UFC roster, there is perhaps only one person that can hold a candle next to the magnitude of his star. That person is UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. And recently, the usually supremely confident Irishman offered his take on what would happen if the two of them should face inside the Octagon.
"I certainly would not like to end up in a tie-up with Miss Rousey," McGregor told SINow. "I remember one time when I'd seen her and I greeted her and said "What's up champ' and we embraced. And I swear on my life he rback muscles were the most solidest back muscles I'd ever felt in my life."
"I thought if this lady was to get a hold of me she would throw me on my head in literally one second flat. So I would not like to engage in a clinch fight with Ronda."
Rousey (11-0) is set to face fellow undefeated fighter Bethe Correia (9-0) at UFC 190 in Brazil.
McGregor adds, "On the man's side of the game there's only one, and that is me. I hold every number in the game: highest gate, the highest pay-per-view of the new era, the highest attended weigh-ins, the highest viewing figures on FOX, the highest subscription on Fight Pass. Every single record I have, at 27 years of age, so I am running the numbers game."
"As far as the women's game, she has created the women's game. Without her, all these women would be still going without food at night. So she is running her side of the game."
Rousey is one of the UFC's few crossover stars, appearing in a number of movies after being crowned champion back in February 2013.
