'Confirmation' Cast News: Cobie Smulders Recast in 'Confirmation' After Breaking Leg

Unfortunately, Cobie Smulders will no longer be able to co star with Kerry Washington.

The actress, renowned for her role in 'How I Met Your Mother' has to be recast in HBO's upcoming Anita Hill movie, 'Confirmation', after she broke her leg, according to a report made by an insider to Us Weekly.

Smulders was supposed to appear in the movie alongside Washington, of 'Scandal'fame, as well as Grace Gummer, Dylan Baker and Peter McRobbie.

However ,she will not longer be able to take on her role because of her injury.

According to the source, the Avengers star was due to start filming on the show this week or last, and does not know how she broke her leg.

"She said her leg started hurting so she had it checked out," the source explained to Us Weekly. "And that she must have done something to it without realizing sometime earlier."

'Confirmation' tells the story of Anita Hill, the attorney who sued Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas for sexual harassment in 1991.

Smulders had been confirmed to play the part of lawyer Harriet Frant, however, she will be replaced by another television actress.

According to a report from Deadline, she will be replaced by Zoe Lister-Jones, the 'Friends with Better Lives' star.

Lister Jones was casted into the role only one day after Smulders shared her decision to bow out. Smulders has previously appeared in series such as 'Vertias: The Quest and The L Word'.

She is best known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the television comedy 'How I Met Your Mother'. 'Confirmation' will air on HBO sometime in 2016.
