'Community' Cast News: Joel McHale Has Hope for a Possible Movie Installment

The long running television show that started on NBC to later end up on Yahoo! last season, 'Community', left fans on a very open-ended note.

Wrapping up its sixth season, fans are now desperately awaiting a movie based on the comedic television series. While this has been rumored to happen, fans are becoming less and less hopeful that his can come to be, however 'Community' star Joel McHale would prompt those to not give up.

In a recent interview with Esquire the actor claims that he truly believes that a movie could be possible. He's at least sure that a seventh season wouldn't be likely to happen, as the actor's contracts have expired.

"They would have to significantly increase some of the pay of some of the actors, I think," said McHale.

If the movie were to happen, McHale says that he would rather have it no other way than Dan Harmon behind the script.

"I think what has to happen is that Dan [Harmon] needs to write the script. It's a tall order for someone. 'Go write a brilliant movie script on a beloved show that you've been writing for six years. Go! Just go ahead and do that!'" McHale told Esquire. "I don't think that is something that's like, 'Let me just have a long weekend.' The cast would do it. We would all do it."

McHale believes that the most important thing factor for this all to happen would be the demand from the fans. He urges those that truly want to see a 'Community' movie to let it be known.

"It might be false optimism, but I really think there will be a [Community] movie. The more people read and talk about it, the more it gets stirred up. I think it'll be bigger than Pitch Perfect 2."
