Cleveland Cavaliers News, Rumors: Injuries & Player-Coach Tension Plague NBA Franchise?

Chemistry issues on both ends of the court, injuries, rumors of player-coach tensions, and massive expectations have placed the Cleveland Cavaliers under the microscope for all the wrong reasons.

When you've supposedly got the best player on the planet, people are always going to give you the benefit of the doubt. But nearly halfway into the season, the Cavs look more lost than ever.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst wrote a detailed glimpse into the ongoing free fall the Cavs find themselves in, pointing to a myriad of issues that's led to a season that's almost on the exact of opposite spectrum of what everyone expected when LeBron James returned to Cleveland and was later joined by all-star Kevin Love.

James returned against Phoenix after missing the previous eight games with knee and back issues. He looked more spritely in his return than he has all season finishing with 33 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, but couldn't help his team from losing 107-100 to the Suns.

The latest loss dropped the Cavs below .500 at 19-20, and gave them their ninth loss in the last 10 games. And as Windhorst points out, the issues go way deeper than James being out the previous eight games.

Players on the floor calling different plays than what is called on the bench, assistant coaches calling timeouts behind head coach David Blatt's back, and Cavs players discussing coaching issues with the opposition are just among the myriad of concerns plaguing the 2014-2015 Cleveland season.

For all the talk about players not getting along with Blatt, Cavs general manager has tried his best to express his backing for the first-year NBA head coach; the Cleveland players' body language, not so much.

The fans have been on it too, blowing an incident during the second quarter of the Cavs loss to the Suns, which had James shoving Blatt (to prevent him from getting a technical foul) out of context.

On that note, Cleveland should have a break from this tumultuous season when they travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers.
