Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade News, Rumors 2015: Acquires Center Timofey Mozgov in Trade From Denver Nuggets

New reports are claiming that the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Denver Nuggets center Timofey Mozgov during draft picks last Wednesday.

Mozgov is a 7 footer who is averaging 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per start this season. Some feel that the player can fill in the team's lack of interior defense. On a side note, the NBA has only nine players who are 7-feet tall.

Cavaliers coach David Blatt revealed that they wanted Mozgov on the team since July last year. The team's determination to acquire him was fueled by defense Anderson Varejo's injury. Mozgov was asked if he knew about Blatt's plan to acquire him.

"I always try to be away from this business. I just try to do my stuff on the court. Of course, I read the news, I knew it. But not too deep to think about it every day," Mozgov answered.

Mozgov added that he needs patience as he tries to settle and organize everything on his new team.

Blatt also discussed the preparation that Mozgov is going through. The coaching staff of the Cavaliers showed the newcomer some documents and videos. It may not be the best way to prepare for the game, but it is required.

However, this is not the first time that Blatt and Mozgov will be working together. Blatt coached the player at the Russian national team that earned them a bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics in London.

Mozgov said that he admires Blatt as a coach since he can keep the teamwork and inspire the members to work hard.

Blatt responded to the compliment by saying that they can communicate with each other effectively and the coach even joked "If need be, I could talk to him in Russian, that's for sure."

Fans can watch Mozgov play for his new team Cleveland Cavaliers against Phoenix Suns on Jan. 13 and against Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 15.
