Cleveland Cavaliers NBA 2015 News: Kevin Love Expects to Stick with the Cavs

From the media's vantage point, it has been a tumultuous season for Kevin Love as a Cleveland Cavalier, a season that ended with surgery to his left shoulder that took him out of the rest of the playoffs after playing just three games in the first round.

But despite hurting from not being able to help his team in trying to win in this year's Finals, and amidst all the storylines of his discontent with a diminished role on the team, Love says he expects to still play with the Cavs next season.

Love can opt out of the final year of his contract on June 30, and can either negotiate for a new deal with the Cavs, or enter the market as an unrestricted free agent.

After an up and down season in which he appeared confused about what his role should be on the team, and with the media spotlight being heightened with all the expectations of teaming up with LeBron James, Love played extremely well in the first three playoff games of his career. Unfortunately, his season ended when his arm got tangled up with the Boston Celtics' Kelly Olynyk.

"I had really wanted this, wanted to be part of this run," Love said in an interview. So, it's something that I look at as an opportunity. I think all injuries are. I'm super happy for these guys, proud of these guys. And there's times where I've felt down because of my shoulder, and they've been here to pick me back up. And that's kind of how it's been the whole year," added Love who is in a playoff team for the first time in his seven year career.

As noted by an Associated Press report, Love has been cleared to travel for the Finals, and will be with his teammates for both Games 1 and 2 at the Oracle Arena.

"I can't necessarily clap, but I can scream," he said.

The Cavs visit the Golden State Warriors for Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday, June 4. Tip-off is set for 9:00 pm ET.
