Cleveland Cavaliers NBA 2015 News: LeBron on His Game - ‘Probably The Best I’ve Been'
Las Vegas, so far, has set the Golden State Warriors as the favorites going into their NBA Finals matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The odds favor the Warriors who are at 5/12 to win the title, compared to the 2/1 odds for the Cavs. But if there's one thing fans around the world know are in Cleveland's favor, it's the presence of one LeBron James.
James, a two-time champion coming into his fifth straight Finals appearance, played brilliantly in orchestrating the Cavs Eastern Conference Finals sweep of the Atlanta Hawks averaging 30.3 points, 11 rebounds, and 9.3 assists. He did so while having three former New York Knicks (J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov) on his team. He also pulled off the feat with Kyrie Irving out for half the series, and Kevin Love out of the entire playoffs with an injured shoulder.
I've had some great playoff runs before. I don't know if this is the top right now. We'll see in less than a month," the four-time MVP said when told his teammates said he's been playing the best basketball of his career.
But as pointed out by CBSSports, when the query was rephrased, he had a more conclusive answer.
"I think if you put it all together, yeah. If you put everything together as far as my mind, my body, my game, you put everything in one bottle, it's probably the best I've been," James said.
The stats don't all agree with that estimation, but the eye test, and the fact this is a Cavaliers team that's almost unrecognizable from the projected roster before the start of the season, points to the King seemingly having one of his most impressive runs.
The Warriors have reigning league MVP Stephen Curry leading the charge, and a slew of capable parts rallying behind their battle cry of "Strength in Numbers," but that may not matter with the best basketball player on the planet being "All In."
