Cleveland Cavaliers 2015 NBA News, Rumors: Chicago Bulls Point Guard Derrick Rose's Injury Plays into Cavs' Favor?
Due to another tear of the medial meniscus in his right knee, Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose is out for the rest of the season. The news of Rose's injury is a good sign for the Cleveland Cavaliers as Rose and the rest of the Chicago Bulls were big opponents for team's chance at the Eastern Conference title. Now, the chances for the Cavaliers to make it to the NBA finals are looking even more promising.
Sportswriter for Bleacher Report Ethan Skolnick said in a phone interview, "[The Cavaliers] saw Rose at his best twice this season. Once actually in the pre-season in Columbia and once right before the All-Star Game and that Rose would have been very difficult for them to handle.Without Rose, it's tipped the scales."
Rose has had bad luck when it comes to injuries. Last season he had to have surgery for the same injury in the same knee. Two years ago, he had to undergo surgery for a torn ACL. Since then, the 26-year-old 2011 MVP has yet still live up to his full potential as a starting point guard since the start of his NBA career.
This season was turning out to be a good one for Rose as he was having his best offensive month since tearing his ACL. In his last 10 games, Rose's 3-pointers were at 41 percent, including going 3-of-5 against the Cavaliers, according to ESPN.
Since the return of star player LeBron James, the Cavaliers' spirits have been boosted. James had been on two-week absence since his arguments about certain plays with Coach David Blatt. Also, acquisitions of Timofey Mozgov and J.R. Smith with general manager David Griffin are working out.
The Cleveland Cavaliers' next game is Thursday, February 26 against the Golden Gate Warriors.
