Christmas Sales, Tech Deals 2015: Google Chromecast, Roku, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Remote Control BB-8

Christmas is fast approaching and people are now rushing into stores to find the perfect gift for others as well as the perfect gifts for themselves.

Google Chromecast is one of the top choices for electronic deals this 2015. It is a media streaming device that can be plugged into the HDMI port on the television. The television and mobile device can be used to cast one's favorite movies, television shows, music, sports, and games, among others. It supports Apple, Android, and Windows platforms.

On Dec. 14, Google unveiled a new promotion for its Chromecast line, according to Engadget. According to the tech giant, the Google Play store credit will get $20 if one buys one of the $30 devices. To add, it does not necessarily mean that it has to be bought directly from Google to be eligible for the deal. Buying from either Walmart or Best Buy is recommended.

Roku is another choice for an electronic deal this year. Also known as Roku Streaming Player, Roku is a catalogue of digital media player set-up boxes created by Roku, Inc. Its affiliates give various contents in form of channels.

Examples of contents are accessible from services like Amazon Cloud Player, BBC iPlayer, Google Play Movies & TV, Hasbro Studios, HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Netflix, PBS, and YouTube.

Data is retrieved by a Roku streaming device through a wired or Wi-Fi connection to an Internet router. The Roku device can also be linked to any television set or device with appropriate input connections, such as audio cable, video cable, and HDMI cable, among others.

Roku 3 costs $79.00 while Roku 4 costs $129.00 in Amazon, as per Tech for Luddites.

For children, electronic toys are appealing for the Yuletide season. Coupled with the release of J.J. Abrams' space sci-fi film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" in the United States theaters on Dec. 18, the remote control BB-8 android can be among the suitable gifts for older children.

The remote control BB-8 has two versions, the Target Exclusive and the one with Wampa arm and leg, according to Herald Extra. The former is more affordable and costs $79.99. The latter is nearly double the former's price, since it is app controlled and has a tighter build.

With these electronic deals, it is assumed that one will be able to make oneself and others happy this holiday season.
