Christian emcee Andy Mineo weighed in on what is going on in Ferguson by posting an article that explains the ordeal as being a "Gospel Issue." It was this post that sparked a bit of a comment debate between the rapper and a few of his followers.

The article, "#Ferguson: A Gospel Issue," written by Chuck DeGroat talks about him not knowing what his black brothers and sisters go through daily as a white person. He wrote about friends explaining how they can not walk down the street without getting looks, and others constantly being stopped by police. 

This prompted Mineo to post it on Facebook with the caption, "Great article for my white friends trying to understand Ferguson."

One of Mineo's fans took the comments to disagree with the rapper and cited something to the effect that white people are products of "reverse racism."

"Maybe it's not just blacks brothers and sisters hurting, maybe it's white brothers and sisters hurting to for all the reverse racism we face everyday," the commenter wrote, "A white cop cant even defend himself when a man who weighs twice as much as him is trying to take his gun WITHOUT being labeled a racist white cop. My question is, do you call yourself Christian yet accuse others of racism easily without knowing their own heart? Its hurtful to everyone involved."

Mineo responded to the commenter, and informed him "reverse racism" does not exist. Racism is racism no matter who it is affected, it is not only a black issue.

"You are looking at this Ferguson incident isolated. READ THE ARTICLE. Yes, white people hurt too, lots of people involved are hurting, but the greater issue and magnitude of the systematic issues of race (which you have never experienced, and I am guessing, taken the time to understand from your african american friends) is what is at hand," he wrote, "Please make an attempt to walk alongside those who are hurting and understand why they are hurting. Then, you may be filled with compassion and not insulted by those speaking out."

After much back and fourth nothing was really resolved between the various commenters. The full thread can be read here. 

However, the best bit of light that was shed in this whole thread was back to the original article, in which DeGroat wrote:

"Jesus would have been in Ferguson last night. He wouldn't have paid a whole lot of attention to a decision on the indictment. He knows better than any of us how 'facts' can be aligned with whatever narrative is preferred. He wouldn't have been wearing a hat or t-shirt for a particular side. No, I think Jesus would have been there standing alongside the family of Michael Brown, holding them, crying with them. I think Jesus would sit with Officer Wilson, naming the fear and anxiety and anger he was feeling, and reminding him that his yoke is easy and his burden is light."
