It was certainly a big year for Christian songs crossing over into the mainstream market and on the final day of 2014 BREATHEcast wanted to share some of our choices. See the artists, and videos we chose below.
Carrie Underwood - "Something in the Water"
Next up is Country artist Carrie Underwood's "Something in the Water," a song that really helped believers and unbelievers alike look at baptism in a new way. The music video was seen over 5 million times and is currently the top Christian song on Billboard.
Lecrae - "All I Need is You"
"All I Need is You" by rapper Lecrae made our list because of its strong message pushing love and monogamy in marriage. The song was played on major secular radio and the video has been seen over a million times. Lecrae's album Anomaly took the NO.1 spot on the Billboard charts for three weeks.
Craig Wayne Boyd - "Old Rugged Cross"
Craig Wayne Boyd's rendition of "Old Rugged Cross" currently holds the No. 2 spot on Billboard's top Christian songs but the 'The Voice' Season 7 winner was sure to make a loud noise in the mainstream with the worship song. The video of Boyd singing the song has been seen over a million times on YouTube and even compelled Pharrell to give God "Glory" on national television.
