Chris Brown Concert Shooting News: Police Continue to Question Audience Members
Gunshots broke out at Chris Brown's concert in San Jose, California on January 11. Brown was performing on the stage as the shots were fired, but was promptly "secured" by his crew.
The shooting took place at about 1:20 am, sending the gathered crowd and Brown into panic, and injuring about 5 people in the crowd. According to TMZ Brown was confirmed to have been unharmed.
Many videos and footage shot from the mobiles by the people who attended the concert has surfaced online. The videos show Brown's performance interrupted by sudden gun shots, and the crowd running for cover or getting down on the ground.
The shooting took place at the club known as The Fiesta, across from the West Wind Capitol Drive-In, according to The San Jose Mercury News. The San Jose police say the victims of the shooting are stable and are expected to survive.
According to the local TV, KRON4, no suspects have been named by the police yet, but the police will continue to question the people who attended the event.
According to the newspaper, Brown tweeted later to his fans on his safety. He tweeted "I'm 100," meaning I'm okay. Apparently, the tweet was deleted later. The party was supposedly moved from a different venue due to capacity considerations.
This is not the first that the Grammy-winning singer has been in the news for such incidents involving violence. Brown was hosting a party in Los Angeles in August, last year, which took a similarly ugly turn. Suge Knight, the Death Row Records executive, who was present for the party was shot along with two other guests.
On that note, Brown has had a reputation of being wrongly involved with the law enforcement officials ever since 2009, when his girlfriend at the time, filed a domestic violence charge against him.
