Chris Brown Concert News: Upcoming Event in Canada Canceled - Singer Denied Entry into Country

Chris Brown was forced to cancel his concerts in Montreal and Toronto, after he was turned away at the U. S-Canada border, denying him entry into the country.

The concerts were planning on featuring Brown, singer Trey Songz and rapper Tyga. The tour's official promoter, 'Live Nation' confirmed the news saying the tour had been cancelled due to immigration issues, according to CBC.

The Canadian government, however, declined to clarify the reason behind denying him entry. Speculations have arisen that this maybe because of the criminal record in his past. In 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, according to the Daily Mail.

Later in 2013, he was charged after a nasty fight in Washington D.C. And in 2014, he was jailed after getting kicked out of a rehabilitation center in Los Angeles, for violent behavior.

According to the immigration laws of Canada, a person who has committed an act outside Canada that would be a crime under Canadian law can be barred from entering the country.

Brown tweeted in response to this by saying, "The good people of the Canadian government wouldn't allow me entry. I'll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans." Brown, however, later deleted the tweet.

This may come as a huge disappointment to some fans, especially to those few who have travelled from the states to attend the concert.
