Chris Brown Canadian Concert Cancelled News: Recording Artist Denied Entry into Canada

R&B star Chris Brown was forced to cancel his scheduled concerts in Montreal and Toronto on Tuesday due to his inability to gain entry through the border.

Brown later tweeted a sincere apology to his Canadian fans who expected to see him perform:

"The good people of the Canadian government wouldn't allow me entry. I'll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!"

It hasn't been disclosed as to why the singer couldn't gain access into the country but it was cited as "immigration issues", by his promoter.

"Stéphane Malépart, a spokesman for Canada Border Services, said the Privacy Act prevents him from commenting on any individual case, but said several factors are used in determining admissibility, including involvement in criminal activity," writes CBC.ca.

It is however speculated that the celebrity's past run-ins with the law may have had something to do with the denial.

"In 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years' probation for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. In September 2014, the Grammy-winning singer secured another plea deal for assaulting a man outside a Washington, D.C., hotel and was sentenced to time served," writes Hollywood Reporter.

This isn't the performer's first time being denied entry into a country. In 2010 Brown faced a similar situation in the United Kingdom forcing him to miss four shows.

Fans who bought tickets to the Chris Brown and Trey Songz 'Beneath the Sheets' concert in Canada will be courteously refunded at the point of purchase.
