Chris Bosh Free Agency Rumors, News: Free Agent May Now Sign For Houston Rockets
While LeBron James has decided to return to Cleveland Cavaliers, all eyes are now set on Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh during this summer's free agent transfers.
Altough Bosh is known to have a strong loyalty for Miami Heat, he seems to have been influenced by a maximum offer worth $88 million over four years. Moreover, since James has already left Miami for the Calvaliers, Bosh may leave the team as well.
Earlier this week, ESPN quoted sources saying, "If James does choose to leave the Heat, free agent Chris Bosh will sign with the Houston Rockets."
In fact, Houston Rockets emerged as the top contenders for Bosh this week.
ESPN further reported, "James not rushing to make a choice could put a time squeeze on Bosh. Though he hopes to remain with the Heat along with James, sources said, Bosh has secured a backup offer for four years and $88 million from the Rockets."
Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported, "James came to Miami in large part to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, both of whom also are free agents. It's hard to envision Bosh staying if James leaves. It's easy to see both Wade and Bosh recommitting instantly, if James decides to stay in Miami."
Currently, Chandler Parsons, the starting small forward for the Houston Rockets last season and a restricted free agent now, has signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks. According to reports, the offer sheet was handed over to Houston on Thursday afternoon.
But a source informed Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feign that the Rockets first want to sign Bosh and subsequently, acquire Parsons.
Feign said, "If Rockets get Bosh and can do both in time, they'd match Parsons' offer sheet, per source. If don't get Bosh, tough, close call on Parsons."
