'Chicago PD' Season 4 Spoilers: Li Jun Li Lands At P.D. As Burgess' New Partner?
"Chicago P.D." returns this month for its fourth season and it is set to introduce promising additions to its cast.
Latest reports on "Chicago P.D." season 4 claim that Amy Morton's District 21 Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt will enjoy the limelight in one episode of the upcoming season. Also, reports say that Kim Burgess will have a new partner and a new romance. "Quantico" star Li Jun Li will play Julie Tay, her new partner, while "Chicago Fire's" Antonio Dawson, portrayed by Jon Seda, will be her new romance.
It can be recalled that in the previous season, Kim got engaged to Adam Ruzek but eventually called off their engagement upon learning that her boyfriend had no plans of marrying her.
Meanwhile, the NBC police drama recently released photos for its upcoming season. One of the photos features Julie Tay, who lands at P.D. as the new partner of Burgess.
"We have Tay coming in with her baggage," said executive producer Matt Olmstead in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"It's a story that was told to me by a female cop, who dated a captain and when the relationship went south, the captain went into punitive mode and moved her, she was a patrolmen to like the worst district. Tay's got a brick on her for the last year, writing parking tickets in front of the courthouse, and just trying to survive and hope this goes away. As it turns out, it takes a couple episodes and help from other people on the show to get that brick off of her, but she's relieved to be a cop once again," he added.
The executive producer also revealed that Platt will take a huge risk in saving Tay's career next season.
"Chicago P.D." premieres on September 21, 10:00 P.M. on NBC.
