'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Spoilers & News: Will Dawson And Casey Take Care Of A Child?

The highly anticipated fifth season of "Chicago Fire" will be filled with more drama and conflicts, as revealed by the new preview for its premiere episode.

In the preview, Dawson is bothered by the risks of her job as well as the possible effects of her new duty, which is to take care of a child. The premiere episode will see a boy named Louie being put under Dawson and Casey's custody.

The clip shows Dawson confiding to Hermann and telling him about her fears. She is afraid that Louie might become an orphan again if she and Casey fail to survive the dangers of their job.

In the clip, she asks Hermann, "How do you put aside your love for your kid when you are running inside a burning building?"

"You just discovered the hardest part of this job," answers Hermann.

A separate report by TV Line included a video further detailing Dawson's emotional conversation with Hermann.

"Casey and I are running into the same burning building. And sometimes, things go wrong. And if they do, then Louie's...alone again," Dawson tells Hermann. The report further mentioned that Hermann responded with encouraging words for Dawson. "You are a great fighter, and you are a great mother. You got his," he said.

NBC's description for the season 5 preview says, "This season, Firehouse 51 faces tough times, as Dawson wrestles with the risks of the job and Borrelli lashes out over the death of his brother."

"Chicago Fire" season 5, episode 1 is set to premiere on October 11, 10:00 P.M. on NBC.
