'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Brett And Mouch Work Together For Firefighter-Based Romance Fiction
The premiere of "Chicago Fire" season 5 is still a month away, but interesting rumors about it are already making the rounds online.
According to reports, an interesting literature-based storyline is up ahead for the show. The new season is reportedly going to feature two characters who will work together and become authors of a firefighter-based romance fiction.
In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Chicago Fire" executive producer Matt Olmstead shared some details about the storyline and the two characters as well.
"Brett and Mouch join up to write this firefighter romance lit, which is its own real genre that Mouch gets wind of. Platt finds out maybe not the way that she would have preferred," he revealed.
Some fans speculate that Mouch will draw inspiration from his own romantic experiences, while Brett will be inspired to write based on her newfound romance, "Chicago P.D.'s" Antonio Dawson.
According to Olmstead, the May-December love affair of Brett and Dawson is an interesting story arc because it could help the viewers of the show know a bit more about their personalities. While there is no reason for the two to be together, Brett will realize in the course of the show that Dawson is the man for her. On the other hand, Dawson will fall for Brett's kindness, as makes her an ideal mother for his children.
Meanwhile, details about the union of Casey and Gabby Dawson next season are still under wraps. Olmstead revealed that the creators of the show have decided to give their relationship a little more time to work things out after all the things they have gone through in the previous season.
"Chicago Fire" season 5 returns on October 11, 10:00 P.M. on NBC.
