'Chicago Fire' Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers & Recap: Severide Speaks To Casey About His Life, Blamed For Death Of A Child

"Chicago Fire" season 5 is currently on its winter break but it will be back in January with an all-new episode, titled "Some Make It, Some Don't."

In episode 9, Kelly Severide will have a serious talk with Matthew Casey as he reflects about the things he has been doing with his life in the past several years. Spoilers for the upcoming episode suggest that the two friends will have some quality time together before they return to work at the Chicago Fire Department.

Kelly and Matthew's conversation will reportedly pave the way for the much anticipated crossover between "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." Previous reports confirmed that the crossover will happen in the second half of "Chicago Fire" season 5, so it is highly likely that fans will finally get to witness it when the series returns next year. The details of this crossover episode remain a mystery, but speculations are rife that the remaining episodes of the season will focus more on Kelly.

Episode 9 will also follow Kelly as he gets involved in a car accident that will cause the death of a child. While he is innocent, he will be wrongfully accused and will struggle to prove that he was not the one responsible for the accident.

Spoilers for the episode reveal that Kelly's team members will be seriously concerned about him and will do their best to gather enough evidence to prove his innocence. They will also have a hard time finding the real culprit.

"Chicago Fire" season 5, episode 9 airs on January 3, 2017 on NBC.
