There is no need for a repeat proposal for Matthew Casey and Gabriela Dawson in NBC's action drama television series "Chicago Fire" season 4, as suggested by Jesse Spencer. The show is also set to return with Christopher Herrmann alive.

Spencer plays Casey while Monica Raymond plays Dawson in the series "Chicago Fire." In their interview with TV Line, Spencer said that in the hearts and minds of the characters, they were already married.

According to Spencer, they were together and he did not see them break up. He added that he would have been traumatized if they had had to break up at this point. The actor added that while he was a big "Dawsey shipper," the actual marriage was inconsequential.

Fans have seen Casey and Dawson together in several episodes of the series; however, they have not seen Casey give back the engagement ring to Dawson's hand, according to Christian Post. This could be related to the rule in which married firefighters are not allowed to work together in the same house, unless one of them moves to another house.

Meanwhile, Herrmann manages to survive in the series when it returns in 2016. According to a photo in Carter Matt, Herrmann can be seen in a critical care unit with contraption and vital signs monitor, along with his colleagues.

Herrmann was a victim of stabbing in the recent "Chicago Fire" episode. The photo suggests that the character is still alive breathing, which implies that he would be seen in season 4's return next year.

In line with the three-part crossover event with "Chicago Med" and "Chicago PD," "Chicago Fire" is set to return with the episode "The Beating Heart" on Jan. 5, 2016.
