'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers, Premiere: Rick Goes To The Courtroom; Series Gets A Season 9?

Along with Rick (Nathan Fillon) going to the court in "Castle" season 8, the hit ABC television series is also likely to stay in the small screen after a possible renewal.

In his interview with Deadline's TCA panel, ABC President Paul Lee said that they would have loved for "Castle" to keep going for years to come. Lee also mentioned that there were lots of good ideas for that and he did not want to give a glimpse to what those ideas might be. For the ABC President, he was feeling optimistic that they had got some good ideas.

Aside from "Castle," Lee also talked about whether "Nashville" was set to end or not, in line with its star Hayden Panettiere's medical leave for postpartum depression treatment. Lee said that they did not have any plans to end it after season 4, adding that the series had an incredibly passionate audience. For Lee, they did not have plans other than to keep it going.

In other news, "Castle" season 8 is also set to transport fans to the courtroom. According to TV Line, one of the series' future episodes is going to center on a case that would have links to incidents from previous episodes, with Rick getting the spotlight. As per the publication, the move was a fun idea to recall the past events while setting up an environment that would be fun for the actors.

In his interview with the publication, "Castle" executive producer Terence Paul Winter said that it would be a treat for their longtime fans, because it referred to several things that had happened in the last few years.

With this time travel to the past events in "Castle" season 8, it is assumed that fans would be able to link significant and interesting events from the past to the events at present.

"Castle" season 8 is set to premiere on Feb. 1 on ABC.
