In line with "Castle" season 8's finale, it is assumed that Castle and Beckett died at the conclusion of the series.

According to Melty, Castle and Beckett may have died in "Castle" season 8 episode 22, which is entitled "Crossfire," the season finale. As per the publication, while the series showed that the duo managed to survived Caleb's attacks, had three children, and lived happily ever after just like in fairytales, one sequence may have suggested the opposite.

The season finale sees Castle and Beckett shot and both lying on the floor, without enough strength to reach for the telephone and call for help. As per the publication, they just bleed out and hold hands, which is a sign that they are accepting death as part of their fate. Also, Castle's eyes see some flashbacks, along with echoes and some dialogues when they first met.

According to the publication, the season finale also shows some events that transpired seven years after the adverse incident and these could just be circling in either Castle or Beckett's imagination. While these events may point out that they managed to live seven years after the tragedy, it is also assumed that those are just imaginations of what their life would have been like.

Castle and Beckett are also set to take down LokSat in "Castle" season 8 episode 22. As per Spoilers Guide, they two had the best lead along with them, but some unpredictable forces put them in a situation that threatens their life.
