'Castle' Season 8 Finale Recap, Spoilers: Fans Not Happy About Stana's End?; Two Novels To Carry Castle's Torch

The final episode of "Castle" season 8, as well as the entire series, saw the end of Stana Katic's journey in the series. However, it seems that fans were not very happy about the kind of ending that was given to the character.

The season finale set out two different paths for Stana. It was either she was going to get killed trying to save Rick, or she would have remained alive but would be in hiding. Some believe that she deserved more than that, considering how important her character has been for the last eight seasons of the show.

Season 8 shifted its focus to Nathan and his character Rick, which is quite justifiable since the series' name is "Castle." However, fans believe that the series would not have been the same without Kate Beckett.

Somewhere in the middle of season 8, it was confirmed that Stana did not renew her contract for a season 9 and that season 8 would be her last. The season also saw her character facing inner conflicts, and almost all the events involving her hinted at the imminent end of her character.

Fans also regret that despite the spotlight being on her and Rick in the previous seasons, Stana did not have any glorious moment in the series except for her encounter with LokSat.

Meanwhile, fans of Rick and Kate will be thrilled to know that despite the cancellation of the "Castle" series earlier this month, the story of Rick and Kate will never end as two novels about their characters will be released in the next couple of months.

The first novel, titled "High Heat," is slated for release on October 25.
