It has been reported earlier that Rick went missing on the previous episode of "Castle." Now that the series is on its 14th episode, the answer to the question has been revealed.

According to TV Line, Rick was allegedly kidnapped just before his wedding. But the website found out that he was in Thailand. "But what happened to him in the time in between Thailand and being found? One word: LokSat," as we quote from the site. 

Digger deeper to what happened, his status as MIA was due to Bilal Khan, who is Rick's old prep school pal who had broken away from Al-Qaeda to turn himself over to U.S. intelligence. Rick's schoolmate had demanded to surrender himself him, as he was requested to be in Thailand immediately. 

But right after he stepped into the country ("and in doing so thwarting a terrorist attack"), the high profiled author's memories were allegedly "erased." As a result, he did not have any idea where he is when he was survived in a boat after a few months. Meanwhile, the mystery of finding Rick in a boat has not yet been answered so stay tuned.

On the other hand, TV Fanatic stated that Episode 14 "did not quite met the viewer's expectations."

"The biggest disappointment was that the writers decided to send Castle back to L.A. without Beckett," as quoted from the website's critic. "It feels like a huge missed opportunity to not see those characters have a conversation about that moment now that they're a couple," the statement continued.
