‘Castle’ Season 8 Cast Updates, Rumors: Showrunner and Creator Leaving Series, Stana Katic to Follow?
The sequel still remains unclear for the ABC original TV show 'Castle', in its 8th season, as both story creator Andrew Marlowe and executive producer David Amann are set to leave the production behind, leaving only clues to the fate of the crime and drama series.
However, Andrew Marlowe said reassuring statements about the future of the stories being worked for 'Castle' after Season 7.
"We think we've achieved what we set out to do this season, but I think we all feel like there's a lot of great storytelling ahead of us if the story gods allow it," Marlowe told TV Guide.
"I wouldn't call [the finale] a traditional cliff-hanger, but there are very specific unresolved issues about our characters that will allow us a fascinating springboard into a next season. We have more important stuff to get to if we're allowed to get there. If we don't, I think the characters have arrived at a really interesting point."
Despite their departure, Castle seems to bend to the idea that the show would go on as the network is still actively looking for a replacement for Amman quite recently. In addition, Nick Fillion (Castle) had decidedly signed the Season 8 contract document which leaves Stana Katic to sign hers for her role as Beckett. However, when she was interviewed about her participation for the next season, her answers weren't able to point out the continuation for the top-rating show.
"If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it's better to stop when you're on top. For me it's about art over finance, and as long as we're creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we're good to go," She said hinting that there is a chance for the show to have a major stop, read on Kdramastars.
While it would seem that the show is leading to closure, fans still expect for Castle and Beckett to tie the knot or could've tied the knot during the show's absence. On a side note, 'Castle' has run for 147 episodes since 2009.
