‘Castle’ Season 8 Cast News: Nathan Fillion Confirms Return for Next Series Installment

It has been confirmed that Nathan Fillion, one of the stars of the ABC series, Castle, has signed a one season contract to return for season eight of the series. However, his co-star and wife on the show, Stana Katic, is still unsure of her future with the show.

If she does decide to leave the show, she will not be the only one, as the show runner, David Amann has decided to step down from his post after one year.

He took over the job from the creator of the show, Andrew Marlowe, who served as Castle's show runner for the first six seasons that it aired. This season however, Marlowe focused on developing new projects for ABC.

Some reports state that he may step away completely from his writing and producing responsibilities on Castle in order to focus on projects moving forward. His wife, and executive producer of the show, Terri Edda Miller would do the same.

On the show, Fillion and Katic play the couple Richard Castle and Detective Kate Beckett. The couple got together at the end of the show's fourth season and married earlier this season. Currently, ABC has not yet decided whether it will renew or cancel the show.

According to TV Line, the title of the show's season seven finale is "Hollander's Woods."

The synopsis of the episode says "A death in the woods draws Castle back to a terrifying and defining event in his childhood.

Investigation leads to obsession as he attempts to unearth answers that have eluded him for decades, all while Beckett faces a crossroads." Castle shows on Mondays at 10:00 pm on ABC.
