Two weeks remain until ABC's popular crime drama series 'Castle' returns for the latter part of its seventh season. Now, fans of the show are looking to find out what's going to happen on the upcoming episode, entitled "Castle, P.I." which airs January 12, 2015.

In the next episode of 'Castle' the crime solving unity between the newly weds, Rick and Kate, is evidently torn as they are no longer allowed to work with each other. While it has not been spoiled exactly how Caste has been banned from working with her, it's evidently going to happen.

Stepping into the official synopsis for Episode 11, "Castle P.I," Spoiler TV posts, "After being forbidden to work with Kate Beckett or the 12th Precinct, Castle obtains a P.I. license and shows up unannounced at Beckett's crime scene, hoping to investigate alongside her as a private eye. But things don't go as Castle had planned."

Moreover, 'Castle' Executive Producer David Amann had some things to say about Rick's new line of work as a private investigator.

In an interview with TVLine Amann said, "He will attempt to run a parallel track with her -- and of course it will not go entirely smoothly, especially since this is his first case ever as a private investigator."

Beyond that, the EP went ahead and addressed another pressing question on the minds of 'Castle' fans. What's going to happen between Esposito, played by Jon Huertas, and Lanie, played by Tamala Jones?

As viewers can recall, the couple decided to set aside their engagement plans after a close call via hostage crisis on the subway. The strenuous and deadly scenario forced the couple to think hard about how they really felt about each other.

Unfortunately, for fans who wanted to see the two together in the end, during the mid-Season 7 finale, the pair decided to remain friends.

In regards to that, Amann said, "It's good for our show when not everybody is settled down. So, we wanted to be able to keep them a bit footloose and fancy-free."
