"We ask that you remember Mark as he enters in to surgery today to remove a kidney," a message on Casting Crowns Facebook read.
Just days after the group announced that they released their album Glorious Days: Hymns of Faith, in-stores and at all Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, Hall took to social media with a message stating that doctors found a solid mass in his right kidney about a week ago. Maintaining that they are 90% sure it was cancer and will have to remove the entire kidney.
The youth leader said he would head into surgery March 11, and now that he has the group Facebook page listed prayer request for Hall. See below:
"Here are some things we are asking you to pray for:
1. Please pray that God will watch over everything related to the surgery and that it goes well. Pray that we have favor with the hospital staff and doctors.
2. Please pray for complete healing and a quick recovery for Mark.
3. Please pray that God will give us opportunities and discernment to share Christ's Love. And pray that we will have strength and courage to represent Him well on this journey.
4. Please also pray that God will give YOU an opportunity to share His love through this. Many of you have said that friends, family members and co-workers are asking you questions about God because of what is happening to Mark.
Please please use these opportunities to point people to Jesus. It may even be one of the reasons God has allowed this.
"Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the Hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. . ." I Peter 3:14-15"
Immediately messages and prayers for healing began to flood the group's page. Also friends of Hall started hash tags and memes to spread the word for prayer.
No further information has been released on Hall's condition but join us in prayer and in faith for his total healing. For updates follow Hall on Twitter HERE.
