Carolina Panthers NFL 2014 News: Quarterback Cam Newton Injured in Car Accident

Last Tuesday, Carolina Panther Quarterback Cam Newton was in a terrible car accident. The pictures of the accident are all over the web and from the looks of them, Newton should not have come out alive. Many say that it was an act of a higher power that he even survived the crash.

Newton has two fractured bones in his back from when his truck overturned and crashed. The accident occurred about one block away from the Panthers' stadium.

The next day, Wednesday, he did not practice with team because he was not feeling well enough to do so. His fractures will continue to be looked at by the team doctors in order to make sure he is healing well and if he will be able to play in the Panthers' next game against the Cleveland Browns.

The police report says that Newton was driving when a car pulled out in front of him. This caused Newton to crash his truck and it flipped upside down. The other driver said that he did not see Cam's truck at first, but when he realized it, he swerved to avoid a crash.

Newton keeps posting all over Twitter and Instagram about how thankful to God he is and just how life is so short. He wants to thank all of his fans for praying for him and keeping him in their thoughts. Newton's parents did drive up from Atlanta to see him after the accident. The doctors and trainers on the team will continue to keep an eye on his fractures and make sure he is healed before he plays again.
