While plans for 'Captain Marvel' move forward, recent news has suggested that the Marvel studio may have found their director for the female led project.

"A couple months ago, it was reported that Angelina Jolie was circling Captain Marvel, and we now have confirmation that she's definitely under consideration for the job. We're also hearing that there's the possibility she could direct Wonder Woman now that MacLaren has left the project. Only one studio can get Jolie since Wonder Woman is due in 2017 and Captain Marvel is coming in 2018," writes Collider.

It was recently confirmed that Patty Jenkins would be taken the role from MacLaren for 'Wonder Woman,' so this opens the door for 'Captain Marvel' to Jolie.

While this genre of movie is not typically in Jolie's repertoire, Marvel has stated that they are indeed looking for a high profile director to lead the film.

'Captain Marvel' is set to arrive on November 2^nd, 2018, so this leaves a lot of time for both parties to settle.
