'Captain America: Civil War' Spoilers, Rumors: Winter Soldier in the Spotlight for Upcoming Film?
In the recent week, fans have been exposed to leaked images from the set of 'Captain America: Civil War.' These photos reveal a fight scene between Captain America, Crossbones, Falcon, and a lot more characters.
While we've been left to speculate as to what this scene is detailing, a recent gossip site claims to know the inside scoop for it, and the whole premise of the movie.
It's understood that 'Civil War' will loosely follow the plot of the comic book story, but it has now been inferred by Lainey Gossip that the movie adaptation will focus a lot on the Winter Soldier. He'll be the centerpiece for the feud between Captain America and Iron Man.
The gossip site states:
"In the comics everyone is fighting over secret identities, but that's not an issue for the movies, so the thing that becomes the touchstone of the conflict is the Winter Soldier-everyone wants a piece of him. Cap wants to save his best friend, Tony Stark wants the guy who murdered his parents and may be using the government registration cause as a means to that end, Crossbones wants his brainwashed Hydra pet back, and Black Panther is in the mix, too, after the Winter Soldier for reasons unknown. The working title for Civil War could also be 'Everyone Gets Bucky'. Civil War is a critical moment for Sebastian Stan and Bucky Barnes-he has to get everyone on his side by the end of this movie, because his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a lot bigger."
While the rumor hasn't yet been supported by a concrete source, it makes a lot of sense for the movie to move in this direction. Bucky Barnes' role in the MCU is destined to expand into Captain America's, as it does in the comics.
'Captain America: Civil War' is set to premiere on May 6, 2016.
