'Captain America: Civil War' Spoilers, Cast News: Hulk Set to Appear in Upcoming Franchise Film
'Captain America: Civil War' is frequently boasted to be an 'Avengers 2.5,' but with this recent news, Marvel should strongly consider changing the name to that.
Actor Mark Ruffalo recently tweeted something that strongly links him to having a role in the upcoming film despite it being said that he wouldn't be featured.
"The Marvel family gets just a little bit bigger," he tweets with a 'Civil War' poster. Underneath is also a link to the press release speaking about the production.
It's a bit ambiguous, but this doesn't rule the Hulk being featured in the movie anymore. His ending in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' was a bit open-ended and hinted that he may not be back in the franchise for a bit of time, but the actor does have a good amount more movies in his contract.
William Hurt has also been casted in the film as General Thaddeus, a character that has some deep-rooted history with the Hulk. The heavy handed cast also includes:
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America; Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man; Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow; Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon; Paul Bettany as The Vision; Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier; Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye; Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine; Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man; Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther; Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13; Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo; Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones; and Martin Freeman.
The movie's synopsis follows:
"Captain America: Civil War' picks up where 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain "
'Civil War' is slated for release on May 6, 2016.
