'Captain America: Civil War' News: Jeremy Renner Speaks On Hawkeye's Role

Among the wide cast of Avengers that are set to appear in 'Captain America: Civil War' is the titular Hawkeye character, portrayed by Jeremy Renner.

While the actor is currently promoting his most recent film, 'Mission Impossible Rogue Nation,' there are still a lot of fans that can't wait to see him reprise his role in the upcoming Marvel film.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Renner spoke on his character's role in the film.

"Yeah, yeah. It's more active," he explains. "A lot of fun stuff happening in that one. I can't speak too much for it. They're still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there's a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway. Then who knows in the future? I don't know what's going to happen."

Hawkeye's character became a lot more fleshed out in the 'Age of Ultron' when he was revealed to have a secret family.

He then went on to speak on the possibility of new actors portraying the characters in future adaptations.

"I think it's probably both," Renner says. "It's always great to know that you are going have a job next year or something. That's a fantastic blessing for any actor. It's nice to be able to continue things and characters that you've kind of grown with. But it's always great to have new faces come in. They're not big on replacing people and characters so much, which I think is smart, because there's so many different characters. I think there's going to be a lot of new faces coming up in that world. I'm happy just to be a part of that big universe."

'Captain America: Civil War' plans to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
