'Captain America: Civil War' Cast News, Spoilers: Black Widow's Origin to Be Explored in Film
It's been previously announced that we will indeed see Scarlett Johansson's character, Black Widow make an appearance in 'Captain America: Civil War," however the actress has teased upcoming developments in how we'll start to view her character.
Black Widow's origin story is apparently dark and this is something we'll discover with future Marvel films. When asked by IGN how this will play out in 'Captain America: Civil War,' Johansson answers:
"I think that the Widow's past will always haunt her. She's trying to move forward, she's trying to pick up the pieces of her life. I think we'll see parts of that in Cap 3 when we find her. And certainly she has a greater purpose, and I think that greater purpose is charged by this need [for her] to escape her past. So, it's always kind of right there, kind of looming over her shoulders."
As they're currently filming the movie, Johansson may be unsure about how much of her character gets involved. There are in fact going to be a slew of characters new and old who will all play significant roles.
Johansson previously made this statement about the film to Reuters:
"I can't elaborate too much on it. But as the scope of these movies is larger and larger and the danger kind of looms larger and larger, I don't want to say that the film has a darker tone, but the film has a darker tone and I think it's maturing along with the fans."
'Captain America: Civil War' makes its debut on May 6th, 2016.
