'Captain America: Civil War' Cast News: Nick Fury Written from Upcoming Franchise Film
In most of the Marvel superhero movies, Samuel L. Jackson has played the role of SHIELD Agent Nick Fury.
Jackson's portrayal of the character began all the way in the early stages of the Marvel cinematic universe, with an appearance in the end credits of the first Iron Man.
However, it appears that Fury will not be cast in the 2016 film, Captain America: Civil War, even though he had a very prominent role in The Winter Soldier.
The cast of characters in the newest Captain America film is quite overwhelming, so it is understandable that Marvel could not include everyone.
Jackson's Nick Fury will be on the sidelines for this movie, as well as the Hulk, who is played by Mark Ruffalo, and Thor, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth.
Jackson spoke about his experience working with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the absence of his character in Captain America: Civil War.
He commented that he has had a lot of fun, and admires the link between so many different characters in all of the films, which brings everything together.
As far as Captain America 3, he stated frankly that he does not understand why he will not play a role in it.
"...I'm not in Captain America 3. I can't figure that out, but I'm not. I guess I'm still out there trying to figure out what happened to SHIELD and who these other people are," says Jackson.
Jackson, who only has two movies left in his contract also said that he is seeking to extend his contract.
