'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date, Cast News: Elizabeth Olsen Confirmed to Return as the Scarlet Witch

It has been confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will be returning to her Avengers: Age of Ultron role, Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, in the upcoming movie, Captain America: Civil War.

This news was first retrieved by E! From a "Meet the Filmmakers" event that took place at the Regent Street Apple Store in London.

Olsen was asked if she was set to appear in another Marvel Movie, and said that she would be filming her scenes in Atlanta in two weeks. Captain America: Civil War follows the events that take place in Age of Ultron, in which the governments of the world pass and act to collectively regulate all superhuman activity.

This causes the Avengers to split, with a schism forming among two sides: that of Iron Man or that of Captain America. In it end, it causes a battle between the two who were once allies.

The directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Joe and Anthony Russo, will be returning to direct the film. In the cast, Olsen will be joining Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Daniel Bruhl, Farnk Grillo and Chadwick Boseman, playing Black Panther. The film is also expected to show a first look at the new Spider-Man film.

This information tells fans that Scarlet Witch, Olsen's character, will not be dying in Age of Ultron. Fans also know that many of the other characters in the films will live all the way through Avengers: Infinity War Part I.

Some fans wonder if this eliminates the tension of the movie. Captain America: Civil War comes to theaters on May 6th, 2016.
