Cancer Survivor Tracy Randall Joins Philadelphia's "Faith Against Cancer" Gospel Concert
Just a few weeks ago, Grammy Award nominated singer/songwriter/ producer Tracy Randall buried his grandfather who had battled cancer for over the last year. Randall himself has been waging a personal war against another form of cancer, Leukemia, within his own body since 2006. His doctors sent him home to die but he's still here. His current Top 100 gospel hit "It Feels Good" celebrates life and the fact that Randall is still walking the face of the earth. So, it's a no-brainer that Randall would share his talent and his story at Urban Roundup Entertainment's the first ever Faith Against Cancer Gospel Concert taking place Saturday, June 8, 2013 at The Wells Fargo Center, 3601 South Broad Street in Philadelphia, PA.
Randall joins a dynamic line-up of gospel luminaries such as the legendary Vickie Winans, Gospel's Leading Man Earnest Pugh, worship artist Stephen Hurd, songstress Tamika Patton, crooner Gary Samuels, The Russell Delegation, Bubby Fann & Praise Beyond and Devastation Dance Crew. Nationally syndicated radio host Lonnie Hunter will host the event and Bishop Gilbert Coleman, Jr. (Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship) will offer words of encouragement.
The concert is meant to raise cancer awareness within the Faith-Based Community and to help find a way to control this fatal disease. "When someone is diagnosed with cancer, their Faith is usually what helps them continue to move forward," says Khalif M. Townes, CEO/President of Urban Roundup Entertainment. "That's why I want us to come together so that we can put our Faith Against Cancer. I've lost six people that were close to me as a result of cancer within the past five years; therefore, I want to raise awareness of the disease. My goal is to help raise funds for cancer research and provide a monetary contribution to assist patients." Vickie Winans adds, "Just recently, I lost my 29 year old niece to cancer. So this is something that hits close to home for me."
The Faith Against Cancer Gospel Concert takes place Saturday, June 8, 2013 @1:00 p.m. at The Wells Fargo Center, 3601 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA. Admission for the event is $20.00 and a portion of all proceeds will benefit cancer research and aide care. Tickets purchased for the Faith Against Cancer Gospel Concert will also include Free Admission to the Philadelphia Soul's football game later that evening at 7:00 p.m.
