Cameron Diaz Wedding With Benji Madden: Calls Husband ‘Best Man Ever’ in Wedding Speech

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden greeted the New Year by officially tying the knot, holding an intimate and private ceremony on Monday evening at their home in Los Angeles.

A representative for the couple confirmed the news, and a source added that getting married was the inevitable next step for a couple in love.

"Cameron has found true happiness," the source said.

There were reportedly some mishaps along the way though, such as a search for the rings after they were accidentally dropped by the 5-year-old ring bearer Sparrow Madden. Not only that, but the power went out just as Diaz was walking down the aisle and she reportedly struggled to get into her reception gown.

Love triumphs in the end however, and Diaz and Madden were able to say "I do."

"We couldn't be happier to being our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," they said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Diaz also has something to say about her new husband, praising him during her wedding speech, according to SMH. She said, "I waited because I didn't want to settle. Now I got the best man ever. My special man. He's mine."

Madden also made a speech of his own and made a few laughs when he said, "I only asked to be in control of two things: the music and the cake."

The couple, who has been dating since May, invited over 90 people from their family members and closest friends, such as Madden's twin brother, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Reese Witherspoon, according to PEOPLE.

The ceremony was set up by celebrity planners Stefanie Cove and Yifat Oren, and reportedly had a lot of security with neighbors being asked to keep mum on the proceedings.

For those who are wondering what's next for the newlyweds, a baby may be on the way as a source told E! News that Diaz has been talking baby plans with her new husband.
