'Call The Midwife' Season 6 News: Productions Kicks Off In South Africa; Six Season Brings Back Miranda Hart’s Chummy

In line with BBC's hit television series "Call the Midwife" season 6, it is revealed that production has commenced in South Africa while "Spy" actress Miranda Hart returns as Chummy in the series.

According to Christian Today, the cast and crew of "Call the Midwife" season 6 are currently in South Africa, since they are set to begin filming for the series' season 6 Christmas special.

As for the synopsis, Metro UK revealed that the Nonnatus House will receive a call from a small and poor hospital named Hope Clinic, which is on the edge of closing. The institution is charged to aid in attending to patients; however, the problem is that they have constraints on resources.

The synopsis states "Far from home and everything familiar, the team are both shaken and exhilarated by the challenges they face - and by the time the mission trip is over, some lives are permanently changed." Based from the text, it is assumed that certain goals are yet to be achieved, amidst of life's trials and challenges.

In other news, "Spy" actress Hart is set to reprise her role as Chummy in "Call the Midwife" season 6 Christmas special.

According to Carter Matt, Hart's character is set to be pivotal in the said episode. In a Statement, Neal Street Productions said that they had been bursting to share the news Chummy had left the mother and baby unit and was heading back to Polar for season 6.

The network said that they were thrilled to be once again featuring Hart and her fabulous blend of warmth, strength, and vulnerability as Chummy got to grips with the medical and social challenges of the 1960 set storyline.

"Call the Midwife" season 6 Christmas special is set to air in the latter part of the year.
