'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Salvation DLC News: Game Gets September Release Date, Features New Maps

New details on the release date and maps of Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Salvation DLC have surfaced.

"Salvation" is set to come out on Sept. 6, as per VG247. According to the publication, the title will first land on the PlayStation 4 and then on the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows after the former's one-month exclusivity.

As per PlayStation Lifestyle, "the title is set to feature multiplayer maps and they are reiterations of Outskirts from "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's" Standoff and World at War.

As per the publication, the maps are Citadel, an ancient, broken, and abandoned castle, which has corners that leave characters with no choice when it comes to close combat; Micro, a small scale war zone that features a family picnic table; Outlaw, a western-themed battlefield that suits medium to long-ranged battles; and Rupture, a high-tech facility made by a modern society that wants to repair the planet's atmosphere.

In a statement, as cited by the publication," director Jason Blundell mentioned the link between the DLC and "Zombies." He said that with the release of "Zombies" as an Eastr Egg in 2008's "Call of Duty: World at War," the secrets they had laid out years ago would finally make sense.

"We've been waiting a long time for this," Blundell added.

"Salvation" is available for pre-order and players can get with added $15 if they are not $49.99 Season Pass holders.
