'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' DLC 3 'Descent' Release Date: New Multiplayer Maps, New Zombies Unveiled

The release date of the third "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC, "Descent," has finally been confirmed.

DLC 3 for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is confirmed to be released on July 12, according to IGN. While the PS4 version of "Descent" is set to be released on that date, the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows versions are expected to follow not long after. The previous DLC, which launched on PS4 in mid-April, was released on the other platforms one month later.

"Descent" adds four new multiplayer maps for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," as well as a new Zombie chapter, Gorod Krovi, that pits players against a horde of mechanized zombies in an "alternate-U.S.S.R." universe, more specifically among the remnants of Stalingrad.

The new multiplayer maps are called Empire, Cryogen, Berserk, and Rumble, and the new locations will require players to adopt new strategies as they battle it out in order to ensure victory.

The "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 3 also brings a number of fixes to address general issues in the game. This follows the hotfix provided by the previous DLC, as well as the explosive weapon change brought by the "Black Ops 3" update in April.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC 3, "Descent," is already available for pre-order as part of the game's season pass, which costs $50, or as a standalone version costing $15. People who pre-order the DLC on the PS4 will also receive a Gorod Krovi theme for the console.
