'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' News, Rumors: Sledgehammer Co-Founder Tweets Gun Game Mode DLC?

Sledgehammer Games has been teasing that 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' fans could soon find new DLC available in the game.

According to Softpedia, the team at Sledgehammer is already working on developing new content for the fan-favorite franchise.

Additionally, the studio is rumored to be launching a Gun Game first person shooter component.

Fans took to the official Twitter account of Michael Gondry, leader at the game developer and found images of the new content.

The new side game features opportunities for players to use a bevy of weaponry, including shotguns, assault rifles, and even a crossbow.

The list of 20 weapons assists as gamers attempt various kills to earn points. The ultimate goal of the side game is to earn the most number of kills with the greatest number of weapons.

This component was originally included in the Ghost, Black Ops 2, and Modern Warfare titles in the franchise and was obviously so popular that developers wanted to make it available to Advanced Warfare gamers.

Sledgehammer Games has not announced if the new content will be made available for free to gamers in a pending content update or if it will be part of a downloadable content package for purchase.

Downloadable content is a clever way for developers to keep games interested for hard-core fans.

Call of Duty has a very heavy DLC schedule featuring additional maps, weapons, and gear for players to demo.

There will also be additions included for the Exo-Zombie collaborative play mode, which was added to the game Jan. 27th as part of a DLC.

The hugely popular franchise had built a cult following of gamers and providing a regular stream of new content is required to satisfy the vast online communities the game has developed.

Recent tweets from the leaders at Sledgehammer have been pouring out, "COMING THIS WEEKEND to @CallofDuty #Advanced Warfare: #AWGearDrops, #OneShotMoshPit, #2XPGunGame." as fans continue to wait for the arrival of the additional content.
